I've made a decision
to stop treating my emotions as an enemy
to see them as a tool
a part of what makes me human
my superpower, not my weakness
to feel joy instead of judgement
to embrace discernment and reclaim my power
and use my empathy to connect and inspire
I've made a decision
to love who I am
to be gentle with myself
looking at myself with a birds eye view
instead of standing too close to see
to make observations instead of expectations
to allow my heart to be supported by my head
and climbing off the merry-go-round of shame
I've made a decision
to give myself grace
to let myself off the hook
for the things I couldn't have known
that I didn't assume the worst
to choose joy instead of mourning
to breathe in deep again the air of new beginnings
and allow myself the space to heal
