May Wellness Advocate Share

April 2017 Advocates Share
This month's Advocates Share features stand out Wellness Advocates from April 2017.

How do you feel going into this summer? Did you know summer is one of the best months to grow your doTerra business?
Understanding the cycles... the ups and downs... of your network marketing business is imperative to your forward momentum. Proper preparation will help you ride the crest of the high sales months, and withstand the storms of the low sales months. With proper preparation, you can find yourself at the high end of the market and consistently moving forward even when others around you may be struggling.
So, how should you properly prepare for the coming upswing?
- Get some classes on the books: Easier sales are great, but they won't happen if you aren't visible. Make sure you are set up for the awesome summer to come.
- Have a system in place to accommodate the growth: Doterra success isn't just in enrollments but also in LRP's. It is much harder to "figure it out as you go" when it comes to getting your customers on LRP. Make sure you have a plan of attack for the new enrollments.
- Plan accordingly for any upcoming vacations: Vacations are great, but your business should not stop altogether because you are taking a break as a family. Strategically plan your work before, after and depending on the length, during, your upcoming trip. You don't want to leave new enrollees hanging because you didn't properly prepare to communicate with them before leaving. But, of course, take your breaks and be sure to refill!!!

Have a fantastic summer!

Chereyl White-Owens is a Silver wellness advocate from Colorado. She is a fabulous crossline leader of mine, and graciously agreed to share the key to some of her recent success with our team. She enrolled an incredible 20 wellness advocates in April, and is vying for her second straight incentive trip win. Here Chereyl writes about her shift in mindset that has enabled her to become a top enroller.

Shift in Mindset

So, Maggie asked me to write a little bit about what I’ve learned, and how I have shifted this past year, to be a top enroller.

As I think about it, I’ve done nothing special. There isn’t anything I’ve done differently than what has been taught to me and to you. What has changed is my mindset. I’m not sure just how it happened, but it did.

I was working a normal job, as a banker, and was unhappy going to my 9-5 job every day. I came home and was so mentally exhausted from my day job, I made the excuse that I was just too tired, and I had no time, to work Doterra, except on a very small scale. I knew I wanted to quit my job so I could manage my own time, and work my Doterra business the way I wanted to, and something had to change. So, I decided at the beginning of 2016, that I was going to make a goal, to not only quit my job in January 2017, but to also win the incentive trip to Cancun.

I wrote it in my goals for the year, put it on my vision board, and told everyone I knew, that I was going to do this. I sought out leaders for help. I made charts, and mapped myself out. I went to all the trainings that I could pack in, to keep me on track. I worked my job, and did as many doterra events as I could possibly do. I also, asked my upline for help with booths, and classes. I was not going to make “time”, my excuse any more, and didn’t.

Because of this change in my mindset, I ended up quitting my job, in February this year, and won the trip to Cancun. I have also almost won the trip to Dominican Republic for next year! Once I made the shift in my mind, that my excuse of not having enough time, was going to end, it changed everything for me, and my business has flourished because of it.

Aleena Steele is a Premier level wellness advocate from Keymar, MD. She's been enrolled with doTERRA since January 2014 . Aleena enrolled 4 people in April. Here Aleena shares on the power of mentoring.

The Time is Now

I’ve thought back today over the last two years of building this business. What has impacted me the most, and helped me build the most. It’s the people on this team! I did O.K. on my own. I listened to all the calls, read everything I was supposed to, went to all the local team trainings and I built slow and steady. I reached out when I had a question and our up lines were always there to help.

A shift started to happen when I attended my first Elite Retreat. Everyone talked about mentoring. You should talk with someone each week. I was kind of doing that. Once a week I talked with one of my 3 up lines. What I came to realize is that’s not being mentored. I had even reached one more step up and had a one-time mentor call with Holly and just that call soared me all the way into May. Then I dialed back down. I still didn’t change much, because I still hadn’t made the connection.

Fast forward to Convention. WHOA! It was amazing but again I’m hearing about mentoring and I’m thinking, I must be missing something. Had an amazing conversation with Holly and started “real” mentoring calls. They have changed me and my business!!

All that to say this. You’ve heard it a million times. Get a mentor and mentor someone else. What does that mean and how can it really help. You’ll have someone pouring into you wisdom they’ve learned. Inspire you to continue to move forward and step out of your comfort zone (in a safe way, haha). Help you to dream bigger than you knew you could. Love on you and build your self-confidence up. Listen to you when times are hard and help you through. When you mentor others, it’s has an amazing effect of helping you stay motivated too. And SO MUCH MORE!

Here’s the millionth time you’ll hear this, get a mentor. Reach out to your immediate up line and ask them to help guide you to a mentor. Make a step today to change your future business. The time is now!

Many Blessings, Aleena

Donna and Randy Campbell are premier level wellness advocates from Gerrardstown, WV.  They've been enrolled with doTERRA since July 2015 . They enrolled 8 people in April. Here Donna shares on building Doterra as an introvert.

A little outside of the comfort zone

A few years ago, at any given moment, you would most likely find me at my desk in my home office, in comfy clothes, working by myself at my computer. My comfort zone. I have 2 paying jobs, plus a volunteer bookkeeping job, all of which I do primarily from my home computer. No stress, no risk. I am a true introvert, and I've been ok with that!
Almost 2 years ago, a friend asked for help (via text blitz), and of course I said "Yes, I can host a class for you." I bought my kit, started on LLV a few months later and I was hooked. I was a dutiful 'user' for almost a year. Then I started to notice, in the course of my conversations, that I felt God leading me to share these amazing oils. They come from God's creation, and they are good!
My best friend, who wanted nothing to do with the business, came to visit one weekend and saw my oil bottles all over the house. She fell asleep reading my ME book. The next day she enrolled with the Natural Solutions kit (she's now Elite!). My sister who has had breathing issues her whole life, needed Breathe and a diffuser. The list goes on. And then dōTERRA started sending me checks in the mail!?! Hmmmm... What? ...but I don't like talking to people!
My husband Randy, on the other hand, has never met a stranger. He is perfectly comfortable striking up a conversation with anyone. I often wonder how God led me to fall for someone so completely opposite of me. But I'm also so very thankful that HE did! Randy is my perfect partner in this business. He can engage with anybody. And we've found that a lot of people like talking about their ailments. Once Randy breaks the ice, I could talk about the oils all day!

Just a few small, feeble steps out of my comfort zone, and God is doing amazing things! He's pulling me into uncomfortable places, but I've found with obedience comes great reward. I'm learning to talk to people, I'm helping them feel better. I'm making so many new friends, and I'm learning to be courageous - there's an oil for that ;)
